Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes information Oregon Busted Mugshots may receive when someone browses the site, uses a partner search tool, or sends a message. It also explains how information may be used or shared and what choices are available. By using the site, a visitor accepts the practices described below. An outside service has its own rules once a visitor leaves this site or submits information to its tool.

Information Visitors Submit

Search Terms

A name or location entered in a partner search box is sent to the outside provider that runs that service. Oregon Busted Mugshots does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may collect and use the query under its separate privacy terms, so review those terms before submitting information.

Messages and Contact Requests

If a visitor emails the operator or sends a message through a contact feature, the message and the details included with it may be retained so the operator can read and answer it. Those messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is needed to respond, is authorized, or is required by law.

Technical Visit Details

Each page request can create ordinary technical logs. Depending on the hosting and analytics services in use, those logs may include:

  • the visitor’s IP address;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages opened and time spent on them;
  • the referring website, if one was supplied; and
  • date and time stamps.

Cookies

Cookies may help measure how visitors use the site. Browser settings can block or clear them. Some parts of a page may work differently when cookies are disabled, and blocking a cookie does not change the separate data practices of an outside provider.

How Site Data Is Used

The information described above helps keep the Oregon reference pages working and supports the services that visitors choose to open.

  • operate the pages and keep them responsive;
  • send a search request to the selected partner service;
  • understand which Oregon record topics visitors use;
  • spot and repair technical errors; and
  • display advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests.

Outside Links and Services

Oregon Busted Mugshots links to county rosters, sheriff and corrections pages, court portals, the county sites in its directory, and outside search services. A click takes the visitor to another operator’s system, where that operator’s privacy notice applies. This site does not set that service’s data rules.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to observe activity across websites and select ads. Any such tracking takes place under those partners’ tools and policies, not through control by Oregon Busted Mugshots.

Who May Receive Information

Personal information is not sold by this site. In the ordinary operation of a page, limited information may be handled by the following parties:

  • search partners that receive submitted queries;
  • analytics providers that measure page use;
  • advertising networks that supply or measure ads; and
  • law enforcement or a government body when a valid legal order requires disclosure.

Safeguarding Information

The operator uses standard safeguards suited to the service, but no internet-connected system can be promised fully secure. Oregon Busted Mugshots cannot guarantee that data will never be exposed, lost, intercepted, or misused.

Visitors Under 18

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may ask the operator to review and remove material the site controls. Information already submitted to a search partner must be addressed under that provider’s process.

Requests About Your Data

A visitor may ask the operator to review information held by the site. Requests can ask for:

  • ask what information the site holds about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate details;
  • ask for information to be erased; or
  • ask to opt out of certain data uses.

Requests apply only to information the site controls. Search queries sent to a third-party provider are not stored by Oregon Busted Mugshots, so a visitor must contact that provider about its copy or use of a query.

Changes to This Notice

This notice may be revised as the service or its data practices change. A new version and its effective date will be posted here when an update is made. Continued use after that posting means the visitor accepts the revised practices.
